The highly anticipated and long-awaited series Wednesday premieres on Netflix tomorrow! On November 16th the cast, crew, and of course the legendary director Tim Burton were all in attendance for the Los Angeles premiere. The show has been getting a lot of attention since it was announced back in June that Wednesday Addams was getting her stand-alone series. The reason why Wednesday has been so adored by many is that she represents what it’s like to be an outcast and be comfortable in your own skin. Fans have been anxiously waiting for this premiere, so let’s take a closer look at the event.
The gothic-inspired decorations for this event brought the atmosphere of the Addams Family as well as the mind of Tim Burton to life. The exterior of the theater was transformed into the gates of the boarding school Nevermore and was paired with gargoyles and tombstones. Inside the cast and crew stopped to take their own individual photos in front of a stained glass window like the one that is featured in the trailer. Throughout the course of the evening, various celebrities came to show their support for the series such as Maddie Ziegler, actress Izabella Alvarez, and sculptor Jim Mackenzie who featured the Addams family pet, Thing on his shoulder. The cast looked incredible, especially the show’s leading lady Jenna Ortega who wore a black Versace dress and topped it off with a black veil.
Last week fans showed their support for the beloved spooky character and some were even dressed like the character. The best part of the evening was when the real Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) arrived to take photos and sign autographs. Like many fans, I’ve been counting down the days till this series airs. I am so excited to watch Jenna Ortega’s portrayal of Wednesday Addams. From watching the trailers and the clips of the show, I believe that audiences will enjoy her performance. Make sure to watch Wednesday streaming only on Netflix on November 23rd!
