Coco 2 Is Officially Happening—But Should It? Fans Are Divided!

Disney and Pixar just dropped the news during their annual shareholder meeting, with Disney CEO Robert Iger promising the sequel will be “full of humor, heart, and adventure.” Which, let’s be honest, is corporate speak for: Please don’t be mad at us for messing with a classic.
The film is still in early development, but Coco director Lee Unkrich and co-director Adrian Molina are set to return, so at least we know it’s in familiar hands. Coco (2017) was a massive hit, winning two Oscars and making millions of people sob uncontrollably while pretending they just “had something in their eye.”
But not everyone is ready to strum their guitar in celebration. Some fans are thrilled to revisit the Land of the Dead, while others think Pixar should let this story rest in peace.
