Los Angeles, CA — The iconic Regional Mexican music group Los Bukis is set to receive a long-awaited honor: their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The dedication ceremony will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. PT, at 7060 Hollywood Boulevard, near Sycamore Avenue.
This tribute will mark the 2,817th star on the famed sidewalk and will recognize the group’s enduring impact in the Recording category. Comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias will serve as the emcee for the event, with actor Demián Bichir joining as a guest speaker.
In preparation for the public ceremony, Hollywood Boulevard between Sycamore and La Brea will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 9:30 a.m. For fans unable to attend, the event will be streamed live on the official Hollywood Walk of Fame website at walkoffame.com.
Los Bukis, originally formed in 1973, rose to prominence with a string of heartfelt hits that helped define the sound of modern Regional Mexican music. Their poetic songwriting, distinct harmonies, and emotional storytelling resonated deeply with audiences across Latin America and the United States.
After disbanding for over two decades, the group reunited in 2021 for a historic tour that sold out stadiums nationwide and earned them the distinction of becoming the first Latin artists to headline a Las Vegas residency at that scale. Their return proved the timeless appeal of their music and cemented their legacy for a new generation of fans.
Throughout their career, Los Bukis have received multiple Grammy nominations and earned the respect of peers and fans alike. Frontman Marco Antonio Solís, widely regarded as one of Latin music’s most influential songwriters, received his individual star on the Walk of Fame in 2010. Now, the entire ensemble will be celebrated for their collective contributions to music and culture.
“This is a powerful moment of recognition for a band that has soundtracked the lives of so many,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “Their music is woven into the story of the Mexican and Latino experience.”
The star ceremony will not only honor Los Bukis’ past but also reaffirm their lasting cultural influence—an impact that continues to echo across continents, stages, and generations.
