Nuestro primer año, Todo Wafi was named the Latin Media Group and we had a nearly entirely different set of writers, moderators, and show producers. It was the first time in history that a 30-day virtual event surrounding nuestro cultura was held by an all Latino organization. This was the first year we, Todo Wafi, took the steps the Latino community needed to begin educating, representing and empowering ourselves.
Last year, we had some of the same incredible writers, moderators, and show producers. We encouraged and joined you in taking action to demand representation; giving you the mantra “con ganas y patadas.”
Este año, we present to you that representation through your own stories, and by introducing you to those paving the way for representation for future generations. We give you stories from our deepest memories, from home, and from abroad all to show the world that la cultura does not just come in one size or package.
Not only that, but we present to you our first ever in-person event that we fully planned, funded and marketed to connect you to countless panelists.
Nosotros Latinos are a tapestry with stories woven in the fabric of our raíces; some stitches are more visible than others. Este año, we are helping uncover esos raíces to truly understand porque somos the way we are.
