‘With Love’ season one premiered on Amazon Prime in December 2021. During season 1, the producer, Gloria Calderon Kellet introduces the Diaz siblings Lily (Emeraude Toubia) and Jorge (Mark Indlicato), who have been on a quest to find love. This show focuses on family, love, and diversity surrounding Latinos, AAPI, Black, and members of the LGBTQ community.
‘With Love’ season 2, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime, dives deeper into the relationships Lily and Jorge have developed throughout season one. At the end of season 2, episode 1 we are left with a couple of surprises that will set the rest of the season to be full of heartbreaks, big life challenges, and change of events.
During the red carpet premiere of ‘With Love’ that took place at LALIFF over the weekend, I had the pleasure of interviewing the cast and also watching the first episode of season 2. Seeing so much representation and diversity in this show was truly amazing. While interviewing Emeraude Toubia, who plays Lily Diaz in the show she mentioned that it feels incredible to be, quote “The only current Latina starring in a RomCom.”
Aside from so many funny moments, this show is filled with so much representation all around. During my interview with Constance Marie Lopez who plays Lily’s mom, Beatriz Diaz on the show she mentioned, quote “The title ‘With Love’ is no joke, it’s this wonderful world of acceptance in one family. I think it’s something aspirational for other families to do.”
