Wafi and Celzo Drinks present Revolucion’s Indigenous Latinidad Discussion Panel. A discussion on embracing our Indigenous roots with special guest Kristi Uribes, Sebastian Rea, and Sisa Quispe. Hosted by Wafi Media Founder and Host of the latin babbler Show Rafael Fernandez and Wafi Editor in Chief Nicole Antoinette Urbina-Ruiz.

Our Panelists

Sebastian Sélavy Rea

Sebastián Rea is an Ecuadorian-American filmmaker from New York City. After studying cinema and political science at SUNY Purchase College, he served as content manager for Tribeca Enterprises for 7 years, overseeing digital content across the festival, on-demand, and digital studios. His comedic short film, “Ruta Viva”, based on his family in Ecuador was picked up by HBO and his other short, “Skin”, about a gay man coming to terms with his weight, can be streamed on HereTV. He was selected as a fellow of the Industry Academy and Artist Academy at Film at Lincoln Center in 2019.

He is also the founder of the 30 UNDER 30 Film Festival, which screens 30 films from 30 directors under 30 years old.

He is a mentor for the Smithsonian Institute Latino Center’s Young Ambassador Program, as well as a Council of Urban Professionals Fellow.

Sisa Quispe

Sisa Quispe is a multilingual Indigenous Quechua-Aymara Artist, her life has taken me from a small city in Peru to one of the biggest and diverse cities in the world.

Living in Peru she followed the path she was supposed to, Sisa became an accountant. Moving to New York City opened the door for opportunities and gave her the chance to discover my bigger purpose.

She is currently pursuing a MFA in Filmmaking at the City College of New York, in order to develop as a storyteller.

As an artist and immigrant in the US, she looks forward to breaking stereotypes and educate society in regards of Native Americans through storytelling. Sisa aims for an inclusive and respectful world that celebrates diversity.

Kristi Uribes

Kristi Uribes is a Chicana filmmaker born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently living in Los Angeles. She attended USC’s School of Cinematic Arts where she received an MFA in Film and Television Production. Her films have screened at several film festivals including Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, Palm Springs International Short Fest, San Diego Latino Film Festival & Hollyshorts.

Kristi has worked in various positions in film and television, including on TV shows for Sony, ABC and Marvel.
