Latino Conservation Week, Is a Way to Embrace our Connection to Nature.
Latino Conservation Week is an initiative established by Hispanic Access Foundation as a way to embrace our connection to nature. For centuries and throughout history, our ancestors have cared for the land in which we have enriched our lives through countless generations. It is no surprise that Latino Conservation Week was established as a way to embrace our connection to nature. The Hispanic Access Foundation established this initiative to bring awareness to our communities of the many projects that we undertake to beautify, protect, educate, and celebrate Mother Earth and all of its natural resources.
This collection of events from a variety of organizations help to accomplish the goals of providing outdoor recreation opportunities, demonstrate our commitment to conservation, serve to support and partner with local and national initiatives, and to inform policymakers of the roles we have in mitigating conservation issues. What began with 9 local events in its first year in 2014, has become a nationwide effort with 160+ events throughout the United States.
