About Claudia
Claudia was born in Brazil and started her career as an editor doing documentaries. Her passion for storytelling brought her to the US where she went to film school at USC and met director, Ryan Coogler. After earning her M.F.A. in Film Production at the University of Southern California in 2011, Claudia’s career took off.
BLACK PANTHER is Castello’s third feature film with director Ryan Coogler. Her close relationship with the filmmaker led to a frequent collaboration that began with the short Fig, produced at USC. Then the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award-winning film, FRUITVALE STATION starring Michael B. Jordan, and the box office hit, CREED, starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone.
After BLACK PANTHER, Claudia ventured working with other film directors and showrunners as David Goyer in FOUNDATION, Fernando Grostein Andrade in ABE, and latest with Daniel Trachtenberg in PREY (Predator 5).
Castello’s other feature film credits include ROXANNE, ROXANNE, an Official Selection at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, THE LAST FULL MEASURE, THE FUNERAL GUEST, BREAKING THROUGH, BREAKING BROOKLYN, ADOPT A HIGHWAY, and SERGIO (in post-production).
