There has not been a new and young Hispanic rapper really killing the game in today’s music scene in quite some time. That is until the recent discovery of That Mexican OT and his push of the Texas sound. That Mexican OT, born as Virgil Rene Gazca is a 24-year-old rapper from Bay City, Texas and he has really blown up over the past year or so.
With hit singles like “Johnny Dang” amassing nearly 40 million views on YouTube alone and landing him a billboard chart. He also has a billboard top 100 placement for his most recent album Lone Star Luchador. That Mexican OT is a force in the industry and he seems to be gaining a strong, supportive fan base pretty quickly. Above all else, he really just has that “it” factor; he simply goes hard, and hard sounding, and he makes hard music that people like.
Another reason that he is so impressive in today’s music scene is because he is growing in popularity and really using his own sound to do so. His sound has both Latin and Southern influences that he puts his own OT twist on and it is very recognizable. You can see this sound come through a lot in his song “Cowboy Killer.” If none of this is enough to make you a fan, this man did a freestyle holding a chicken for goodness sake, your favorite rapper is simply not doing that!
We wish That Mexican OT all the support in the world as he continues his career; we have no doubt that he will keep delivering his special sound proudly. If you want to check him out, click the links to his Instagram and Spotify, I definitely highly recommend supporting him.
