Unreal news in the business world this week, because for the first time ever an AI was appointed as CEO of a company! Colombian rum company “Dictador” has chosen to have the AI named “Mika” be the CEO of the entire company. Obviously, at first, this sounds completely crazy, but it’s actually very interesting to the business world and many are wondering how “Dictador” will perform under their new artificial leadership.
The idea of AI having normal jobs in society already scares people enough to make them start to ban the progression of its development. Deciding to have an AI be at the top of a business’s entire operation is definitely an unpopular choice to make. But, there are many things that are interesting to consider and think about with the idea of an AI CEO.
Firstly, there is no way the boss can seemingly be biased or pick favorites, which is so great to know in a work environment. No amount of ice breakers or talks in the break room can get you close to “Mika’s” cold robot heart. On the other hand, one downside of your boss being a supercomputer is how good they are at their job. Imagine that your boss runs all of the numbers in the entire company, and then can also tell you exactly how many minutes late you were this month, there’s nothing human about that. Possibly one of the best parts of having an AI be your CEO would be that every meeting would have to be an email, and that alone would give Mika my vote.
As I did more research on Mika’ and the “Dictador” company I found out that “Mika” is actually not software but actually a human-like female robot containing the AI. All I have to say after finding that out is. HELL. NO. How many movies have to be made about this for people to finally realize it’s a bad idea, don’t make robots look like people. Here’s a look at “Mika”.
Okay, first off I want to ask why is she kind of snatched? They really did that for no reason. Don’t let me find out that this company used to be run by a bunch of men and this is like a creepy thing they spent too much time on. Although after one look at Mika, you can tell she doesn’t mess around and they definitely programmed a nice right rook in those robo-arms. Mika definitely looks like a “don’t talk to me until I’ve had my coffee” type of lady.
Let me just set the scene of what it would be like to have a human-like robot Ai as your boss.
Imagine you go into her office and see her plugged into 4 different generators, as screens are flashing Ivy League textbooks that she’s just processing in seconds. Books ranging from biology to philosophy so she’s an expert in any sort of conversation you could try to spark up. Now the only reason you are in her office in the first place is because you just want to ask for an extra day off because your in-laws are in town. Now you don’t even like your in-laws but your partner asked you to ask for the day off and now you gotta talk to this robot. Who also happens to be your superior and who signs your checks, so obviously you are nervous. You ask for the Monday off next week and Mika looks you in the eyes with her two lenses and says “ My analysis shows that your taking the Monday off would affect the company negatively by 2.44%, and would result in the loss of $46,000 worth of sales, but I will you give you the day off because it appears to be *beep* *boop* “Good for morale”. Then you leave her office soaked in sweat because you thought you were about to get fired for a second, and now feel like a bad coworker to the other humans.
There is actually so much information on Mika as the first-ever AI CEO and the “Dictador” company as a whole. I’ll leave the link to their website here. Dictador
Definitely take a look at that if you want to learn more because of other facts surrounding the whole situation Mika has a sister named Sophia who is also a human-like robot, because obviously, she needed a sister. The idea of your boss being a supercomputer humanoid robot is an endlessly funny idea to think about, like god forbid it be a regular person in today’s age right? All in all the first-ever AI as a CEO of a company has been getting a look of mixed reactions, from high praise to crazy looks, but I personally am a fan of Mika and am rooting for her.
