Pvt. Ana Basaldua Ruiz, 20, died by apparent suicide. The soldier’s parents told Telemundo that Basaldua Ruiz experienced sexual harassment from her peers and a superior in the weeks preceding her death at Fort Hood the same military base where Vanessa Guillen was murdered. It’s unclear whether she made any sexual harassment reports during her 15 months stationed at the Texas post. But what is clear is that the Military needs to start being held accountable for sexual harassment and or assault of any kind.
